Project Description

This design-and-build marina fuel facility project included installation of a 10,000-gallon, two-compartment, aboveground storage tank and double-wall piping systems onto a floating dock for gasoline and diesel fuel dispensing into small-craft vessels. We adhered to the Department of Defense’s Unified Facilities Criteria and the requirements of the California Air Resource Board for phase-I enhanced vapor recovery for aboveground tanks.

Notable Accomplishment

The most significant challenge during this project was designing the piping systems to accommodate for tidal fluctuations (minus 4 ft to plus 8 ft). This was accomplished through collaboration and teamwork with the piping system manufacturer, OmegaFlex. More specifically, we had them custom design piping systems and cradles to hold the double-wall dock connectors in a safe manner during the rise and fall of the tides.
